Summarising

Reflection:
We have been learning to summarise by finding the main idea in a text. I enjoyed finding the main idea by looking for clues.   The diagram above shows the clues for the main idea.  Next I would like to summarise a longer text.

Dear mum and dad,

I can smell coconut and dogs.  I can smell shampoo and conditioner on all the dogs.  It Looks like a paradise.  it looks like green nature and black and white birds.  I can see a tree with bumpy wood, green and brown leaves, branches and snapped sticks and twigs.  I can see the sea with some fish.  I feel safe, quiet, calm and happy.  I hear monkeys talking and water splashing.

Reflection:

We have been learning to describe a setting by using our senses.  I enjoyed writing about what I sensed.  I found it tricky to find the right words to describe.  Next I will start my sentences differently.
